30 Healthy and Frugal Meals That You Can Afford.

I used to think that eating healthy can be quite expensive. When I became a stay at home mom, I know that the budget for groceries is the first one that needed to be adjusted. I honestly did research on how to slash the grocery budget and bought several cookbooks that promised frugal meals. A few years ago, I watched the first episode of Extreme Couponing and I was amazed! Determined and inspired, I learned how to coupon.  While I will  never be an extreme couponer,  couponing did save us a lot of moolah.

Using coupons on top of an already sale price or marked down item will greatly affect your grocery budget. Eating top ramen is definitely frugal however in the long run, investing in your health is still the best.  I am not dismissing semi healthy to not healthy frugal meals, sometimes there are days that you just have to make do or make it through the next paycheck.

How can you eat healthy frugally? As much as possible build your menu with whats on sale. Serve meatless meals. Make filling meals or soups. Use coupons. Have a price book to take notes of your stores prices. Sometimes, you will be surprised how certain health foods are cheaper at Trader Joes. Make some of the kitchen staples at home.
