Great American Pureflix: Birthright Outlaw - A Bountiful Love

Great American Pureflix: Birthright Outlaw

I am not a huge of Western movies. I do find the historical aspect of a movie or the day-to-day living in a Western movie interesting. The new movie Birthright Outlaw has a kind of Western theme in it but the story behind it is not something that I have seen before. First of I think Great American Pureflix is doing a great job of producing quality and versatile movies that are not only fun to watch but also faith-filled and inspiring.

Birthright Outlaw stars: Sarah Drew from Grey's Anatomy and Lucas Black from Legacy Peak and NCIS New Orleans. If you have not seen Legacy Peak yet, see my review here: Legacy Peak from Pureflix. I would recommend this movie for kids 12 and above. But as always use your own discretion, I know that each family has its own values, dynamics, and rules that we hold dearly. The movie has some themes of guns, violence, killing, and kidnapping. However, it also has themes of second chances, loyalty, redemption, and forgiveness.

SYNOPSIS:

Her father said her birthright was sealed. A frontier pastor’s love told her otherwise. But when their daughter is kidnapped by her outlaw grandfather, can this couple trust God—and each other—to rewrite their destiny?

Bible Verses for Reflection:

  1. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. – Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
  2. Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. – Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)
  3. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, and the new is here. – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
  4. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. - Luke 12:2 (NIV)
  5. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished — he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. - Romans 3:22-26 (NIV)
