On our recent date night, hubby and I came up with something new for us. We will be trying out new restaurants that we haven't tried before. Not just a new restaurant but new cuisine as well. Something out of our comfort zone. We always encourage our girls to try new foods, they can be picky at times so why not practice what we preach. Our first food adventure was at a Lebanese/Greek Restaurant by Downtown, Redlands. Hubby ordered a kebab plate, while I ordered the Shawarma plate. Both of the plates were served with a salad., boy was I surprised on how good the salad was. SIMPLE but really good. A really nice break from my usual Asian salad dressing and Rob's ranch dressing.
Ingredients:
2 whole lemons. squeezed and strained
1 cup Olive oil
2-3 large garlic, minced or pressed
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
Put all the ingredients in a jar, shake until incorporated. Serve with your favorite salad or keep it for later in the fridge. When ready to use, just run the mason jar under running warm tap water.
I used Costco's Organic Spring Salad Mix. I just add in some red onions, tomatoes, and avocados

I have to say that I don't really use dressings for my salad, but this one looks tempting :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, this is great! I've cut refined sugar out of my diet, so I'm always on the lookout for homemade versions of condiments, etc.
