Easy Sourdough Crackers - A Bountiful Love

Easy Sourdough Crackers

I finally found a sourdough discard recipe that is very good and crispy! I love that these sourdough crackers are buttery and versatile. You can use any herbs you like or make it sweet using cinnamon sugar. We love using Everything But the Bagel seasoning. However, you can also use ranch seasoning or plain salt and pepper! We have also used the nacho cheddar popcorn seasoning.

The key to this delicious and easy sourdough cracker is letting git sit for 20 minutes and rolling it thin. After making this discard recipe, trust me you will be rethinking all the storebought crackers. These are easy-to-make, frugal, and a healthier alternative to ultra-processed crackers.

Ingredients:

1 cup sourdough discard
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp salt Everything Bagel Seasoning

Optional: Herbs such as Italian seasoning, basil, or thyme.

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough discard, flour, butter, oil, and salt Using your hands, knead the dough until it is smooth and not dry.

Cover and let it sit for 20 mins. Divide the dough in half and roll one out to a thin rectangular shape. It is easier to roll the dough on a silicone mat or parchment and transfer it to the cookie sheet.

Cut the dough into square or rectangular pieces. Brush the top with butter and sprinkle with Everything Bagel Seasoning or any seasoning you have. Bake for 15-20 minutes until it is golden brown and crispy.

Cool the crackers completely. if some crackers had baked “together” just simply break it apart after it cools down.

Here's the nacho cheddar popcorn flavor. It is delicious! Try these flavorful sourdough crackers with your favorite dip. We love the onion and chives cream cheese. These are also amazing with tuna salad or chicken salad.
