My initial thought about the main character of the new movie from Pureflix, God's Country Song was "Wow, this guy is not hard to hate". As the movie progressed, I can understand how past hurst can have a stronghold on us just like what it did to Noah Bryan (played by Justin Gaston). It is hard to move forward on our dreams and calling when we do not know how to face past mistakes or unhealed wounds in the family. God's Country Song is about fatherhood, forgiveness, faith, and redemption.

Noah's actions and selfishness had strong effects on everyone around him including the son he did not know he had until the child needed him. The lack of communication and the "hiding" from grief had put a strain on his relationship with his father. His ego had tested his manager's limit and patience. I love how patient his manager was and how he treated Noah as his own. It reminds me of how all of us are always chasing for the next big thing..career or promotion but we are missing the big picture. No matter how successful we get if we do not make the Lord the center of our lives and do not give Him the glory...things will fall apart. It takes heartache or hitting rock bottom before we realize what really matters in life. I highly encourage you to watch this movie with your family, especially with the dads in your life. There is a light kissing scene at the end and some drinking so watch with discretion if you intend to watch with your big kids.
