Deuteronomy 6: 5-9
"And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates "
1. It helps us to be more active in our walk with the Lord.
2. We teach and lead by example. Our children will probably not remember all the things we preach to them but we can start at an early age, showing them that their parents seek the Lord's scriptures. Showing our children the ways of God, the love of God, His Mercy, and never-ending grace.
3. Reconnection. Whatever time you choose, family devotionals make every family reconnect. No smartphones, no distractions..just good 'ole family time.
4. If you choose to do a scripture memory verse, that verse will, later on, serve your children. Bible verse is what I call, heart and soul instructions. Whatever need arises, that Bible verse that is written in their hearts will serve them well. In times of difficulties for example, we can trust Him with all of our heart (Proverbs 3:5-6)
5. Think of family devotionals as a charger. Whatever negativity that had crept into our daily lives, devotionals as a family serve as our "re-fueling", "re-charging" tool for whatever the next day may bring. Whatever happy moments, blessings we have received, family devotionals are a great way to praise the Lord and give Him thanks.
6. Family devotional is a way to equip our children to continue the good fight by doing so brings glory to God.
7. Family devotional helps your family grow together in knowledge and application of God's word.
8. That desire to always seek God will always be lit.
9. A bonded relationship with your family founded by the Word of God.
10 There is nothing like a Christ-centered family
