Summer vacation is finally here! For at least 2 months or so, there will be no  waking up so early , no rushing out the door, no deadlines. We can finally enjoy a slow morning and  to stay in our pajamas longer. We have a summer bucket list lined up and one of them is a movie camp out night.

When I say camp out night, it's a camp out night in the living room kinda night. The girls love it! they get to stay up late at night and watch a movie with us.  I got a free copy of Pirate's Code : The Adventures of Mickey Matson. So I thought this was perfect for our camp out night. This is a follow up movie and my initial thought was, will we be able to get into what the movie was about without watching the first sequel. I also thought if it will keep our 5 yr old, engaged in the movie or will she get bored?

Mickey Matson , (played by Derek Brandon) is pitted against the evil pirates led by Admiral Ironside (played by Frank Collison) who's intent is to destroy civilization with their new invention. Their new invention is the TESLA COIL, a weapon of mass destruction that will send an electromagnetic pulse throughout the world, destroying every electronic device in existence. A secret organization , in which Mickey Matson and his friend Sully ( played by Francesca Derosa) is a part of, will embark on a mission to stop the evil pirates. They will stop the pirates from taking over a submarine and stealing the last part needed to complete  their weapon of destruction. They need to stop the civilization turning back into The Stone Age.





Did our 5 yr old enjoy it , yes she did.  Did I and my husband sit through the movie? Yes, we enjoyed the movie. It was a really good break from cartoons.  I like that the movie got our girl to ask a lot of why's..it just shows that her mind is engaging.
