Learning Toys for Toddlers and Preschoolers Part 2 - A Bountiful Love

Learning Toys for Toddlers and Preschoolers Part 2

Play and exploration are the natural ways our kids learns . It is very important for healthy development. There is nothing like playing outside and exploring nature and for those days and circumstances that outside play and exploration is not applicable, here are some toys that teach.

These Learning toys are for toddlers and preschoolers , however some older children will still enjoy these games and toys.

Candy Land Bingo - A Color Recognition Game

A fun way to play and learn colors! A starter game for toddlers who's starting to learn their colors and our 4 yr old girl loves it.

Stringing and lacing are great ways to enhance fine skills. They enjoyed stringing each bead and designing it , as they pretended to make necklaces. It is a perfect way to develop hand and eye coordination , an awesome way to teach them how to spell their names too. What I love about this is that it is in a reusable container.

Think fun Roll and Play Board Game

Now this game is awesome for active play and if you want to work on your child's gross motor skills. Perfect for those rainy days and super hot summer days, it keeps your children moving and learning.

Just simply ask your child toss the big plush cube and identify which colored side faces up. Choose a matching color card and perform the simple activity shown on the card, such as “Make an angry face”, “Play Pat A Cake” or “Find something blue”.  A good bonding time for parents and  child . It is really fun, hubby and I enjoyed it with our girls.

Playskool Play-Doh Fun Factory Super Set 19 oz

Kneading , cutting and pressing the dough are great ways to exercise those fine motor skills.  I love that it also makes them creative and think. Engage with them by asking them what are they making , are they making a pretend cookie? Encourage them to create lots of different things with play doh.

If you are not a big fan of play doh's you can easily make play dough at home,  see here :

You can also purchase tools for play dough like this:

You can also find things around your home that they can play with the dough to save money. Like cookie cutters you don't use anymore , straws , rulers, popsicle sticks and lids.

Puzzles

Our eldest Lucy got obsessed with Finding Nemo for a while. I can't even tell how many time she watched it. She also enjoys puzzles. It is a good way to strengthen their fine motor and helps in their focus.
I don't know about you but we do enjoy watching how her face lits up every time she finishes a puzzle. Just be sure to encourage them and offer help when they get frustrated.

Lets Go Fishin

This game is perfect for reinforcing hand and eye coordination , hand dexterity and patience!  If you want to give your kid a little tube and hand held device break, grab this game. They will love it!

Learning Resources Lacing Alphabet

This toy is not for kids under 3 yrs old or kids who still have the habit of putting things into their mouth. The letters are small. If you have a preschooler at home who loves to lace and make words , this is a good set for them.

Brain Quest Preschool, revised 4th edition: 300 Questions and Answers to Get a Smart Start

Do you have an inquisitive young mind at home? If you do, this is awesome to pack in your purse . When your in a waiting room with an antsy kid, this is handy to keep them engaged and thinking.

Melissa & Doug Shape Sequence Sorting Set

This sorting set promotes coordination recognition , memory skills, hand and eye coordination and fine motor skills. There are many ways to use this set and interact with your kid. You can teach them basic math skills like sorting, patterning and counting skills.

Have fun and laugh with your children!

  9. All I can say is that kids toys must be able to entertain but it will be better if they helps learning some simple things, such as counting, spellings, and word making.
