BOOKS TO READ

To save money , local library is a good option. You can also use whatever books you may have in your home library to supplement with the lesson.

From the library ...
  • Howdi Do by Woodie Guthrie
 From our book shelves..

We always start by saying the letter out loud. Teaching her the phonetic sound of the letter. Next is the line tracing and letter tracing of both  upper case and lower case letter H)

You can download this free letter Hh tracing sheets here : ( free at First-school.com)

We did a Letter H collage using foam sticker hearts.
The peeling and sticking is good for enhancing fine motor skills.

You can print the alphabet letters here for collage : A- Zworksheets via COAH . Don't limit yourself with stickers.  You can also use heart or happy faces stamps or paint it with dot sponges.

Even our 2 yr old enjoyed it too!

We reviewed colors too, using pom poms, a muffin tin that we recycled ( We spray painted it pink) and kitchen tongs. I asked her to pick up the pom poms using the kitchen tong and she needs to put each of them on each muffin tin that corresponds to the written color. This is an excellent way to practice fine motor skills and patience..

We practiced our Letter H  without the guided tracing dots, and did a FIND THE BIG LETTER H and THE SMALL LETTER h activity. You can make this activity using a Microsoft word. Download the HAT activity here : Hat Printables for Dr. Seuss

We read this Letter H Alphabet Lap book . Download it for free here : Homeschoolshare.com
