Crockpot Hawaiian Meatballs - A Bountiful Love

Crockpot Hawaiian Meatballs

Homemade is always the best, however, there are those times when we really get busy. I like having cooked and pre-made meatballs in our freezer..for those crazy busy days or just those "I don't really feel like cooking". For this recipe, I used Costco's Italian meatballs. It is a huge bag but you can make a variety of quick and easy meals out of that bag. This is by far one of my most pinned recipe and my famil's favorite crockpot recipe.

You can also make your own meatballs, Make-Ahead Meatballs is the perfect recipe for that. You can use lean ground beef or ground turkey.  You can also bake them (375 degrees for 45 mins) instead of deep-frying them. This recipe is perfect not just for family dinners but you can feed a crowd with this delicious recipe. The ingredients are inexpensive and it takes little of your time.

Ingredients:
3 lbs packaged of precooked, frozen meatballs
1 15oz can of unsweetened pineapple chunks, drained BUT saving the juice
1 cup sliced green bell pepper
1 cup sliced red bell pepper
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2/3 cup white vinegar

* Sauce will be runny and that is okay. You can use cornstarch to thicken if you prefer thicker sauce ( mix 2 tbsp of cornstarch and 2 tbsp of cold water, stir and slowly pour into your crockpot 10 minutes before turning your crockpot off)

Directions:

Put your frozen meatballs into your crockpot, topped with the bell peppers and pineapple chunks.

Make your sauce by mixing the reserved pineapple juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, and soy sauce.

Pour the mixture on top of the meatballs. Cook on low for 3-4 hrs. Give it a quick stir before serving.

Simple and easy. Serve it with rice. My family ABSOLUTELY love this meatball recipe. My husband told me several times, that this recipe is a keeper! I have served this over parties and brought them to potlucks!

Don't forget to pin and share!

  7. This was very easy and good! I made it in my electric pressure cooker and it took 20 minutes from start to finish, just long enough to make the rice. Thanks!

  11. Is it okay to make this dish ahead? Then just heat on low for the specified time even though the meatballs may have thawed out but kept chilled in the fridge?

  13. I've made these before and love them! However, I've never made them while I was at work... will they be okay on all day? I don't have a programmable crock and last time I let something cook all day that wasn't a big ol' hunk of meat (it was perogies), it turned to much! Not good mush...

  14. Can you tell me why you changed the lbs of meatballs from 1lb to 3lbs please? Does it effect the sauce coverage?
