Super Easy and Quick Marinara Sauce - A Bountiful Love

Super Easy and Quick Marinara Sauce

One of the many ways frugal and SMART families save money with their food budget is by making homemade kitchen staples. I love making homemade Marinara Sauce because of the many possibilities, recipes that you can make with it. You can use the sauce on spaghetti, meatball sub, as a pizza sauce, dipping sauce for garlic bread, pair it with meatloaf, and so on. This is very easy and quick! It would just probably take 10 minutes of your time.

Ingredients:

1 28oz of crushed tomatoes
8 garlic cloves, crushed ( you can mince the garlic if you prefer it that way)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tsp sugar
optional: 1 tbsp red pepper flakes. 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan, saute garlic until slightly golden brown or fragrant.

Pour the crushed tomatoes. Add the pepper, salt, sugar, basil, oregano, salt and optional red pepper flakes, and Parmesan cheese. Mix and let it simmer for about 8 minutes.

Quite an easy sauce recipe right? Feel free to use fresh herbs too!

It is so perfect with the homemade meatballs that I made too!
