The Best Sandwich Bread - A Bountiful Love

The Best Sandwich Bread

One of the many things that you can do to lower your grocery bill is to make homemade bread. I know that you can buy a loaf of bread for less than $2. It will definitely save you a lot of time. I am not against store-bought bread. On a pinch, when I do not have the time and energy, I will have no shame on buying a loaf of bread. I am also not a snob of regular all-purpose flour. But when the opportunity or budget allows, I prefer buying organic flour from Costco. It is indeed more expensive but think about the other benefits.

Whether you're baking homemade bread, cookies, muffins, or pancakes, the quality of your flour matters. Organic all-purpose flour has become increasingly popular among home bakers who want cleaner ingredients and a more natural approach to cooking.  Organic all-purpose flour is made from wheat grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Farmers follow strict organic farming standards designed to support soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable agricultural practices. The result is a versatile flour that can be used in most baking recipes while offering several potential benefits over conventionally grown flour.

This recipe is from Kirkland Organic All-Purpose Flour package. I have tried several homemade bread recipes and I can guarantee you that this is by far the best one. Of course, sourdough bread will always be amazing. This recipe is perfect if you are wanting to change to a healthier lifestyle.  It uses simple ingredients without the hard to read and pronounce ingredients. You can absolutely use a regular all-purpose flour.

Ingredients:

6 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour (I use Kirkland Organic Flour)

2 1/4 cups warm water

2 packets (4 1/2 tsp) of active dry yeast

1 tbsp salt

1/4 cup vegetable oil (extra for oiling the pan) - I use avocado oil

Directions:

1. Whisk warm water, yeast, and sugar. Cover and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

2.Stir in salt and oil. Using the dough hook attachment of your mixer, mix in flour one cup of at a time. Mix/knead until dough is slightly sticky but pulls easily on the sides of your bowl.

3. Roll dough into a ball. Place in an oiled bowl and cover with a towel for 1 hr.

4. Place dough on a floured surface, knead for 1 minute and divide in half. Shape each into loaves and place into 2 lightly oiled standard bread loaf pans.

5. Cover the loaf pans and let it rise for 1 hr. Move the oven rack to middle. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

6. Bake on the low rack for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

7. Let it cool before serving.
