The Short Game Movie Review - A Bountiful Love

The Short Game Movie Review

Who is with me on finding it hard to choose good and clean movies to watch? As a parent, one of our responsibilities is to guide the children in the type of media they see. We need to be discerning of the seeds it may plant on our children's mind and heart. The Shirt Game Movie is a family-oriented movie, light-hearted but full of lesson nuggets. This movie is also perfect for preteens and teens.

These are some of the things that I had reflected on while watching the movie:

1. We need to be careful of the responsibilities we intentionally or unintentionally put on our kid's shoulders. Sometimes we do not fully grasp our kids way of thinking or the things that they internalize.

2. Whether you have a special needs kid (like Ethan in the movie), all kids have gifts. We need to pray for wisdom to see it so we can foster it.

3. Winning a trophy will never equate winning in life and principle when you have a mean-spirit (for the character of Bruce Benett).

4. Choosing the right way doesn't always feel good initially, but God sees, and He will bless you. This doesn't mean that we do the right thing only to be rewarded. That is just fake righteousness.

5. God's plan for us is always than our well-laid plans.

The language in this movie is clean.  You will not ask your kids to cover their eyes either, The Short Game is a clean family movie. There is death in the movie as a disclaimer, but it is not explicitly shown. The Short Game has faith, family, friendship, and sibling -relationship themes.
