What is CBD (Cannabidoil OIl) - A Bountiful Love

What is CBD (Cannabidoil OIl)

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of the compound (cannabinoids) found from the cannabis plant. CBD is not a controlled substance, therefore, companies can "produce and distribute CBD products derived from non-psychoactive hemp varieties, providing easy access to this extremely advantageous cannabinoid" (Pavlovic R, Nenna G, Calvi L, et al. 2018).  Since CBD does not contain psychoactive effects, several studies reveal its use for treating epilepsy, anxiety, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and a lot more.

I know that the notion of cannabis might turn you off, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis (Kubala, 2018). This is the compound that causes the sensation of getting “high”. If you are still hesitant and in doubt, I highly suggest that you read evidence-based research and scholarly journals. After all, it is always best to NOT jump into the latest hype without doing your own research or consulting a doctor.

And speaking of a doctor, this is my disclaimer: I am not a doctor nor do I hold a degree in Nursing. This sponsored post was brought to you by Every Day Optimal.

Is CBD legal to use in the US?

CBD is available in all 50 states within the U.S. with the exception of Michigan, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and West Virginia.

Known Benefits of CBD oil

CBD oil is known to relieve acute pain, ease insomnia, anxiety, depression, alleviate cancer-related symptoms, and diabetes prevention. The plethora of benefits are promising, and more evidence-based research is still needed to explore the benefits of CBD,

Side-Effects

While CBD oil is considered safe for ages 18 and above, some side-effects include changes in appetite, diarrhea, and fatigue (Iffland, K., & Grotenhermen, F. (2017). It may also have reactions with other medications that you may be taking. It is always best to consult a doctor.

Will I try it?

Certainly! But I will be taking this under my primary care's supervision. I do have several health issues and so far, from the scholarly and evidence-based articles that I have read, the benefits are promising. If you are considering CBD oil, please know that there will be side-effects just like any other drug out in the market. Do your research and consult a medical professional. Do not self diagnose.
