I have been called a highly organized person. The truth is, I'm not. I try to be. I like an organized and clutter free environment. Everyday is a working progress. With a tiny person at home and a school aged kid, it's a challenge too keep a home tidy. I am happy to be able to tackle this problems of mine with all the manuals and warranties. Depends on the number of your paper works, this project is really easy. I suggest that you go over all of the manuals you got in hand. I did and I was laughing at myself for keeping manuals that we do not own anymore. Small appliances that probably got broke and toys that got donated. Stuff that had been thrown out. Why was I keeping this paper junks all these years!
I have tried other ways of organization.
I once gathered all the manuals , registration cards or warranty information did the hanging folder type of organization. Didn't work for me. I did the clear container organization, I mean how hard could it be..all in one box of container. Didn't work for me either.
This binder organization..This worked. This is just right for us.
We bought this 2 pack white binder at Costco, and forgive my occasional forgetfulness , I forgot how much exactly we paid for it BUT I am sure it is less than $7. The Avery sheet protectors are 100 pcs. for $10 at Walmart. It comes really handy for when there are recalls on our kid's car seats , strollers etc. We can check the model number quickly.
It is also where I keep all the gadget softwares and instructional DVDs.
(like the instructional DVD for the sewing machine)
(like the instructional DVD for the sewing machine)
and any protection plan or insurances..
Manuals of course, you just never know when will you need it.
I separated all the paper works into two categories only.
- Kids ( car seats, strollers, toys etc) and Gadgets ( cellphone's, tablets etc.)
- Home ( appliances..big and small)
Of course I have to make them look pretty.. I bought this scrapbook papers at Micheal's..

Now. here's are the other binders I have ...

stress & clutter, saving time & money, & improving your
overall quality of life." - Christina Scalise

Good organizational ideas.

DeleteThis is great advice and I am going to put it to good use!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! We tend to use part of one of the filing cabinet drawers and I do divide manuals up according to "kids stuff", electronics", and "appliances"
