Enduring Word Study Bible Review - A Bountiful Love

Enduring Word Study Bible Review

I have been using the Enduring Word app with my Bible study time so I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am to receive a copy. I have been a believer for several years now. I have to admit that sometimes I cannot fully comprehend certain Bible chapters. David Guzik's commentary has been a blessing to my Bible study time. In fact, aside from our church Pastor's teachings, you will also find snippets of David Guzik's commentary notes in my Bible. If you are a new believer, a homeschooler, or a seasoned believer that needs help with digging deeper into the Word of God, The Enduring Word Study Bible is perfect for you!

Notice, how I mentioned homeschooler. You might be wondering how this fits into homeschooling. You can scroll down the key features. If you teach Bible lessons or connect the word of God into your lessons, the introduction to each book of the Bible exploring the background and major themes are so helpful. I have an 8th grader and a sophomore kiddo, so we all use the app as we study the Bible book by book and we often need further explanation.

Key features:

  • Introductions to each Biblical book, exploring background and major themes.
  • Study notes for every chapter (rather than just selected passages) based on Guzik’s commentary.
  •  400 application notes to bridge the text and practical living.
  • 50 thematic articles covering major topics/theological questions throughout the Scriptures
  •  A concordance with over 200 word-studies, translators’ notes and Scripture cross-references.
  •  Clear typesetting: double-column, “Comfort Print” 9.5-point font, red-letter edition (for words of Christ).

The commentary is comprehensive. I also mentioned digging deeper into God's word. Some of the pages in this bible are almost evenly divided: equal portion of the Scripture and the notes. What will this mean for you? It means notes for every verse! I love this because just when you think a verse is just a verse, then a commentary note will make the verse make sense to you.

The practical application focus is also a plus. The application notes make it more than just scholarly or academic—they help connect the verses and text with everyday life. What will this mean for you? It will mean that the commentary doesn’t just explain what the verses says, but also how it might affect how you live.

Now let's talk about the quality. It has a great quality physical build, durable indeed.  The typesetting is readable (for normal vision), and the cover/edge gilding give it a solid feel.  Because of all the commentary material, the Bible is thick and heavy but doable and not in an inconvenient way.

I highly recommend the NKJV Enduring Word Study Bible for anyone wanting a robust, in depth, practical study Bible that bridges solid commentary and real-life application.
