Are you a praying mom? A few years ago, a friend from a church gifted me with a book, "The Power of a Praying Parent" by Stormie Omartian. I know how powerful prayer is but I often forget to pray about every aspect and detail of my parenting life as well as my children's life. The book reminded me too that it is never too early to pray for their future, for example praying for their college lives or even future husbands. Another book that I love (and still have a copy of it) is "The Circle Maker" by Mark Batterson.
The book is a good reminder to never stop praying even if, at the moment we needed the answer for prayer, our prayer never gets lost. Our timeline is not God's timeline. It is encouraging to know how God works not just in our present lives but our future lives and generation. My prayers for my kids will have a ripple effect not just on them but on their future families as well. I am very blessed to be able to watch the movie, Paul's Promise. One, it is about the power of a praying mother. Second, it is so much more than forgiveness, it is also about: Striving to be like Jesus, letting go of the past hurts and not letting it dictate what God has for us, not being afraid to stand up for what is right, and how healing can come from a group of Jesus-centered relationships. The movie is all about family too, and how we can neglect our family while we are unaware of the deep hurts that affect our actions or words.
