I remember my very first parenting/motherhood book that I read was written by Meg Meeker M.D. The book, The 10 Habits of Happy Mothers was full of highlighted sentences, quotes, and even paragraphs. It has several sticky notes and bookmarked pages. I kept it for several years until I decided to pass it on to a friend so she can be encouraged as well. It is one of those books that will help you draw away from the traps of mom guilt, offers practical advice and applications, full of encouragement, and wisdom.
I am thrilled to share this funny, relatable, and enlightening movie, Strong Fathers Strong Daughter inspired by Dr. Meg Meeker's book, "Strong Fathers Strong Daughters: 10 Secrets Every Father Should Know". I was very excited to watch this movie that is exclusive only on Pureflix because I have two daughters. I know that this movie will surely mirror a lot of scenarios and my husband's feelings regarding parenting a daughter. Even though they are not of marrying age yet, we watched the movie with our girls (ages 12 and 10) and it did not disappoint. It was funny, never a dull scene. I did say it was relatable right?
I do think that this movie will reflect your own emotions and thoughts when your kids reach that age when they are very much capable of handling their own life. It's hard to let go! As I have mentioned earlier I do not have older daughters yet, but I also struggle with letting go and trusting God when it comes to our kids. Discerning between- control and structure, a learning situation and discipline, and trusting their own decisions is not easy. We need to be aware that our convictions or our own dreams for them may not be their own or not what God called them to be. God gave us this amazing role as parents. However, we need to remember that our kids are not ours to control.
That is why we need to be prayerful. Surrounding our kids with prayers is valuable. Do not exclude God when it comes to parenting. They belong to Him after all.
Let alone trust somebody else to take care of our kids. I hope that you see this inspiring movie, Strong Fathers Strong Daughters on Pureflix.
