Frugal Thanksgiving Day Side Dishes - A Bountiful Love

Frugal Thanksgiving Day Side Dishes

If you are like me always looking for ways to save money, the food category is probably the first one that you will evaluate. I think it is very important to always re-evaluate how we spend our money on food- either our grocery budget or dining out budget. The holidays are upon us and it is never too early to plan these seasons. We can start by making a list of cheap and fun activities, meals for gatherings, gift lists, and most especially a list of priorities. Making a list of what to prioritize may not sound as important but hear me out. Sometimes, we just have to re-think what we do every holiday season.

There were things or traditions that we always do when our kids were little but it doesn't seem to fit in our lifestyle right now.  As an example, when they were little we always visit a pumpkin patch located just a few minutes from our home. As the kids grow and so is the pumpkin patch's popularity. It had gotten so expensive. From a free entrance to a paid entrance and the rides and games had gotten pricier too. I am not against the growth and it is amazing that it had provided part-time jobs BUT we stopped going because it just doesn't fit our budget and our lifestyle anymore.

There are meals that I always make every year as well. I want my girls to grow up with memories of food being prepared for each holiday season. I don't know if that makes sense to you but I grew up with certain specialty food being cooked on Christmas day... Christmas won't be the same without this particular food! Aside from the traditional meals that I make, I love trying new and drool-worthy side dishes that are frugal to make. For this year's Thanksgiving, I will plan on trying a couple new side dishes from the collection that I am sharing below. I hope that you give them a try!
