Pureflix: Unlikely Angel - A Bountiful Love

Pureflix: Unlikely Angel

Here's another movie that will inspire moms who feel like they are not doing enough or feel less than what their true value is especially in today's society. I love it when Pureflix releases an original movie that empowers different people from all walks of life. Regardless of how successful you are in your career or if you are a stay-at-home mom, lies will creep up on us in the form of mom guilt. This movie, An Unlikely Angel is not your typical Hollywood momlife-inspired movie. One huge difference is that this movie reminds us that God is very involved in our life.

We know that the Holy Spirit that dwells inside us is our help. However, he also sends us angels. Sometimes, he sends us just ordinary people in our lives to help us. I am always in awe of how God sends His angels to deliver the news of salvation (the Angel of God appearing to Mary) to angels saving Jesus's disciples from Jail (Acts 5:17). An Unlikely Angel in a nutshell is a story that reminds us parents that we do not have to do it all alone, about second chances, and prioritizing what truly is important. We can all use some second chances, right?

We also often forget that when we get overwhelmed, we have a gracious Heavenly Father. His plans are for us to prosper (Jeremiah 29:11). He is our rock and fortress (Psalms 31:3). He wants us to succeed but He also doesn't want us to lose sight of what is important. I smile when I think how our amazing God saves us from ourselves. When we pray for something that doesn't happen, it is still an answered prayer. Oftentimes, we forget that all we have to do is pray and ask for help. Besides, he already knows our hearts and our needs even before we utter our prayers.

I mention angels above and it is because, in this movie Gabe, an angel played by Robert Amaya was sent by God to intercede for Janie as she transitions from a powerhouse businesswoman to being a mom. She is remarkable when it comes to presentation or leading the toy/video game company she was working for but lacks the ability to trust herself as far as being a mother. She was pregnant with Samantha when she landed a big win on her presentation. After giving birth, she leaves the hospital to work. With Gabe as her taxi driver who by the way tried to explain to her the truth, she was still consumed by disbelief.

She got into an accident, waking up to only find out that she was in a coma for six years! You what that means right? We now have a grown Samantha. David, her husband had to quit his med school to raise their daughter and live a simple life by moving to Janie's hometown (with her dad). I need to stop right here because I really need you to watch the movie. I do not want to spoil the movie for you! Trust me, it's a good one.
