Old's a colored balloon . Let the dull balloons go.

Have you felt like you were still being judged by your past ? I do sometimes , especially on what seems to be a regular conversation with other people, who would suddenly shift about my past. This has bothered me a lot . I had two conversations , both of them close to my heart. I shared  a great news that my family is planning for this year , when I was reminded of a mistake I made ages ago. That this "plan" is good because I left home early and the way I left home. You see,  I left home early , because I was a naive , impatient and irrational teenager. Teenager . I thought I wanted more in life. I shifted gears..and it was a wrong gear. With that conversation, I realized wow , how could these people who meant so much to me , remember me that way..not with WHO I AM RIGHT NOW. I am a wife , a mom , a sister and a friend. I am a good person.

I confided with hubby , and there were a lot of talks about this. He did shed light , along with prayers ..with my now sad and angered heart. I told him that during those years that I wasn't home , I was never a bad person. I understood my family .. the hurt and but never forced them to accept my came in time. I didn't turn my back for those who needed my help , I offered myself when service was needed . I was never a disrespectful person.  I told my husband how come people are too quick to forget on how good of a person you are and also too quick to pin point your mistakes in the past. My husband's answer blew me away.. he asked me " if I have forgiven myself". I gave it a thought , I said .." I'm on my way there.."
He said.. " If you have forgiven yourself ..these people who gives you this..shouldn't bother you."

Never a day went by that I wished I did some things differently. I wished I HANDLED some things amicably.. But then.. those bad experiences that I had shaped me to be who I am right now. I am worthy of the good life I have right now, I paid my dues emotionally. Every time , a conversation about my past would be brought up..I always ended up "over explaining " myself . Those days are over now , All people have a past. Mine  has always been an open book. I share with people to inspire .. So old's a colored balloon.. let go of the dull balloons..the dull past.. let it go. You are good in God's eyes. Move forward.. and pray for those who can't let go of their "old self".

I can not seek everybody's forgiveness. If they can not look past those mistakes I had ( everybody's had , no one ever had a perfect past) , You can not then see how God shaped me to be the person ..the wife and the mother I am today. I was already forgiven by my Holy Father. I am not going to walk with a big cloud of guilt over my head . I will be reminded of my past. I can not control other peoples perception and thinking  but I know where I stand in God's heart.

Lots of Love ,

Taco Bites

I made these easy and so yummy taco bites last Christmas. A budget friendly appetizer if  you will use  homemade staples . Instead of using canned black beans , you can buy a bag of beans and cook it at home. A bag of beans can yield up to 5-6 cups. I am making this again for Superbowl :)

1 package of wonton wrappers
1 lb of ground turkey
A package of taco seasoning or use  Homemade Taco Seasoning
1 can of black beans or use Homemade
1 -2 cups shredded cheese
cooking spray

As for the toppings you can use : tomato , shredded lettuce , black olives , cilantro , hot sauce , green onions and avocado

I served the toppings buffet style as well..

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.

Coat a non stick muffin tin with your cooking spray. Gently press , one wonton wrapper on each of the muffin tin. Heat pan and brown your ground turkey. Drain and put the browned ground turkey back to the pan. Mix in the taco seasoning , adding half a cup of water. Let it cook for a few.

Roughly chop the beans and add it to the seasoned  ground turkey .

Fill every cup of wonton wrapper with 1 tablespoon of the ground turkey mixture .

Sprinkle cheese on top.

Bake for 7-8 minutes or until the cheese melts or when your wonton cups have golden brown edges.

A lot of yumminess on those bites!

Add your favorite toppings.

Drizzle with a lil bit of  hot sauce...

Delicious! Pin it, share it later. awesome for any occasion.

I would love to connect with you!

Why did Jesus Fold the napkin ?

This was shared to me by my thoughtful mother in law. I do not know the exact source nor the author. It is too beautiful not to share.

It is inspiring . Every time I read it, I smile and thank Him.

Nothing of this world is ever important. So stay with me and I promise you , you will be inspired too.

" Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection ?  I never noticed this ..

The Gospel of John 20:7 tells us that the napkin , which was placed over the face of Jesus , was just not thrown aside like the grave clothes.

The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded , and was placed separate from the grave clothes. Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark , Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple , the one whom Jesus loved. She said, ' They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put Him ! '

Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see.. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first.  He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there , but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrapping lying there , while the cloth that had covered Jesus ' head was folded up and lying to the side.

Was that important ? ABSOLUTELY!!

In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin , you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant , and every Jewish boy knew this tradition.

When the servant set the dinner table for the master , he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly , and the the servant would wait , just out of sight , until the master had finished eating and the servant would nt dare touch that table until the master was finished.
Now if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table , wipe his fingers , his mouth and clean his beard , and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days , the "wadded napkin meant, "I'm done! ".
But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin , and laid it beside his plate , the servant would not dare touch the table, because... The folded napkin means ,  'I'm coming back! '  "

Jesus is Coming Back!

Beautiful isn't it ?

Meatless Friday : Kale Pasta & Rolled Grilled Cheese

I like a simple meal. And once or twice a week I like to serve meatless meals to my family. There are a lot of recipes and smoothies that you can incorporate with this cruciferous greens. It is one of the most healthiest vegetable. It is an anti-oxidant , anti-inflammatory , excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K -- and sulphur-containing phytonutrients.

Kale is also rich in the eye-health promoting lutein and zeaxanthin compounds.

a bunch of Kale
3 garlic cloves
a package of whole wheat thin spaghetti
1/2 cup to 1 cup of Parmesan Cheese
3 tbsp Country Crock butter
1 tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Wash Kale thoroughly.  Remove the thick branches, Chop the leaves finely ( thin strips) ,

Meanwhile , cook you pasta according to package instructions.

Heat a large pot. Melt the butter and add in the olive oil. Saute the minced garlic. Be careful not to burn it.

Add the kale leaves , and cook it for about 5 minutes. Once it turned into dark , deep should be done. Turn your stove off.

Mix your cooked spaghetti noodles with the sauteed kale. Mix it nicely and add in Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top as well.

It just doesn't look pretty..It is delicious and healthy :)

You may serve the Kale Pasta with rolled grilled cheese..

Here's easy!

Slices of bread
Cheddar Cheese slices
Rolling pin ( if you don't own one , a tall drinking glass would do the job)

Trim the edges of your bread. Flatten it using your rolling pin . Place a slice of cheese on each flattened bread, Carefully roll it . Heat a pan and melt your butter. Fry the rolled cheese ( seams down)..turn it until all sides are browned.

This is really good with any soup too!

Hair Bows and Hair Accessories Organization

I used to make and sell bows. We have two girls , and I just couldn't help myself making bows for them! On top of that , they get hair accessories gifts from relatives and friends , dollar stores have A LOT of cute hair pieces for little girls. I LOVE..fixing their hair do's and dressing them up with cute outfits. With that , these lil frills can be everywhere! Luckily too ,  I have a patient hubby who ends up picking  those dainty trinkets and hair pieces from the floor, under the bed , and other nooks and crevices.

Having a designated area for all the frills , will keep the clutter under control.  Here's a few ideas on how we organized ( and try our best) and keep it from being messy.

This is a fabric message board that we purchased at Michael s ( most stores sell this) . I just inserted several pieces of ribbon ( different widths , colors and designs) , diagonally at the opposite side. This is to accommodate  more hair bows and clips , as well as for the different sizes.  For hanging it on the wall  , I picked out a good wide ribbon , a staple gun and a hook.

We also purchased this at Micheals , could not remember how much but I am sure we used a 40 % coupon with it so it is cost effective. Those small pouches holds small pair of clips , claw clips and bunches of pony tail holders.

I made this using a regular plastic shoe organizer , purchased at walmart for $12 . It was very long , so I cut it in half (using the other half in our kitchen to hold pouches of kid snacks , granola bars , oatmeal / breakfast packets etc) .  I used a regular wooden hanger , some fabric scraps & felt fabric .

This holds their necklaces , bracelets , hair brushes , hair detangler spray.

Lastly , this is a just an empty oatmeal container. I covered it with a nice scrapbook paper . It is where we hang all the headbands and inside it is where we put all the crochet / stretchable headbands. Frugal isn't it?
