NIV Bible for Teens GIVEAWAY

We have two wonderful, beautiful and awesome little girls, ages 3 and 5 . We have high hopes for them. We pray for them many times in a day. We pray for them every night . We (hope) and want our girls to get to know God. To grow up knowing the greatness of His love and abundance of his grace.
We want them to walk with Jesus all the days of their lives. I am no expert on parenting teenage girls but there is no doubt that every teen girl needs to be reassured that THERE IS NO ISSUE TOO BIG FOR GOD.

While there are a lot of parenting books on raising teenage girls, I strongly believe that giving them the right resources will help them in this fun, confusing , emotional and whirlwind of chaos stage of their life. The bible is the right resource. Your number one resource.

The great people at Zondervan have designed a Bible for real teen girls with real lives.    The NIV Bible for Teen Girls, designed specifically for girls ages 13 to 18, will do just that.  This Bible is packed with daily readings, highlighted promises of God, challenging insights, smart advice, and open discussions about the realities of life.  This Bible is designed to help teen girls grow in faith, hope, and love.  It is as sincere about a teen girl's walk with God as they are, helping them discover GODS will for all areas of their life, including relating to their family, dealing with friends, work, sports, guys, and so much more.

Here's all the great features of the NIV Bible for Teen Girls:

  • DAILY READINGS by popular Christian female authors including Bethany Hamilton (Soul Surfer), Annie DownsChristine Caine, Nicole WeiderElsa Kok ColopyCrystal KirgissBekah Hamrick MartinDenise Van Eck, and more
  • CHARACTER PROFILES of women in the Bible

Low Calorie Huevos Rancheros

Protein rich meals are important when you are trying to loose weight. How important? Protein helps you sustain muscle during weight loss and improve muscle fitness --> with exercise of course. It also has immunity and antioxidant function. Adding appropriate protein in our meals makes us also feel much fuller and aids in weight loss.

Most of you know, how much I love Mexican food. ( see here for : Mouthwatering Mexican Dishes) If I find a healthier version of what I love to eat..I can almost guarantee you that I will make it..maybe tweak it just a  little bit and I will gladly share it.

Here's a delicious , easy and protein packed recipe for you!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cup Homemade Black beans ( or use low sodium 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed)
10 oz can diced tomatoes with chilies, drained.
4 eggs
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp chili powder
1 tsp Sriracha hot sauce
4 whole wheat tortilla, low carb
1/4 cup , reduced fat shredded cheese ( cheddar or Mexican)
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
2 tbsp olive oil

The craziest 30 minutes of your day for the Best Results of your life!

 Directions:

Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet. Saute the onions until translucent.
In a small bowl, mix the cumin, salt , pepper and chili powder. Mix until combined. Break or mash the beans.Set aside.
Add in the black beans and the spices. Cook for about a couple minutes. Stir frequently.
In a separate skillet , heat the drained diced tomatoes and Sriracha . Cook for about 2 minutes too. Set aside.

In a separate ( and clean) large skillet , heat the tortillas. Heat each side.

Spread 1/4 to 1/2 cup of black bean mixture on each warmed tortilla. Add in diced tomato mixture on top.

For the eggs: Cook the eggs sunny side up - you can cook the eggs until egg whites are firm and cover the egg with a lid to  or you can turn it upside down without breaking the yolks.
Place the sunny side up egg on each tortilla prepared with the beans mixture and layer with 1 tbsp of  cheese and cilantro on top.

Each or one prepared tortilla with egg has 216 calories

Low Calorie Oatmeal Cups

We all know that breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day. Skipping your breakfast will sabotage your health, most especially if you are trying to loose weight. . I can relate to each and everyone of you, how difficult it is to have a sit down meal on busy , rushed early mornings. Sometimes, it is just too early and some of you are just not hungry yet and by the time you are ready to eat-- you are already famished ,you will more than likely grab an unhealthy food to curb the hunger.

These Low Calorie Oatmeal Cups are perfect for "on the go" mornings. Each PLAIN oatmeal cup contains 170 calories. The more toppings you add and the kind of toppings you add will alter the calorie count.

Ingredients:

3 cups old fashioned rolled oatmeal
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sweetener of your choice - I used Splenda
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup cup skim milk
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder

optional toppings : 1/4 cup chocolate chips , 1/4 cup reduced sugar  Craisins , 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1 tbsp flax seeds.

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare muffin tin using muffin liners.

Whisk the egg , coconut oil and brown sugar.  Add in applesauce , milk , cinnamon, salt and vanilla.

Add the oats and baking powder. Stir well.

Mix your toppings together.

Fill your muffin liners with the oat mixture, about 1/4 cup each tin.

Add the toppings on each muffin cup, pressing them slightly.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Let it cool. Serve warm or you can make a big batch and freeze it for later use.

They are so good. Chewy and satisfying!
